In 2015 I graduated with my master of science in mental health counseling and certificate in addictive behaviors from Capella University. In 2018Â I obtained my full licensure as a licensed mental health counselor in the State of Washington in 2018, and became a Nationally Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors.
Since graduation I have worked with a variety of populations within the substance abuse and mental health field at a variety of community mental health facilities within the Clatsop County, Pacific County, Grays Harbor County, and Cowlitz County area.Â
While employed within these mental health agencies I worked collaboratively with clients who were coping with a plethora of life issues combined with untreated mental health diagnoses, including substance abuse disorders.
These disorders included: major depression, anxiety, sexual, verbal, and physical abuse, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, domestic violence, family concerns, fostering internal motivation for change and maintaining that motivation in the future, impulse control, and even regulating emotions.
Working collaboratively as a team, I attempted to help many client's learn and implement healthier choices and coping strategies through the use of Cognive Behavioral Therapy Techqniues, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Techqniues, Motivational Interviewing Techqniues, and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
